Our focal points, under our Drug-Free Communities grant, are underage drinking, marijuana and vaping. We collaborate alongside different sectors in the community so we can continue spreading our prevention efforts.
In 2018, a group of teens officially formed The Kearny Teen Prevention Coalition. These students have had the opportunity to attend the Lindsey Meyer Teen Institute, for summer/fall youth leadership conferences and College Track program for High School Seniors as well as CADCA Youth Leadership Initiatives in other states.
The Kearny Prevention Coalition monthly with the Kearny Municipal Alliance and other community sectors. Meetings are held on the 3rd Monday of the month. The Kearny Teen Prevention Coalition also meets monthly to discuss current events in our community. Click here if you'd like to join us!

Jack Corbett is the Program Director for the Kearny Prevention Coalition and has
held that position since the inception of the Coalition.
He is a retired Kearny Police Officer, serving for almost 35 year , retiring as Deputy. Chief of the Department.

He is a proud father and grandfather hoping to keep Kearny safer and drug free
for his family and yours.
A graduate of Rutgers University, Jack is also an avid New York Giants fan.

Counselor(CADC) who is employed at Rutgers University as an Addiction Specialist. I am also the Assistant Coordinator for the Kearny Prevention Coalition for the Town of Kearny. I have been working in the
addiction and mental health field for the past 20 years. I enjoy being an active member of the community by volunteering with the Recreation Department, St Stephens Church, and Kearny Thistle United. I
recently coordinated the Black Poster Project held at St Stephen’s Church which was a powerful impact to the community of Kearny.

Anthony Menafro is the Program Coordinator for the Kearny Prevention Coalition.
Being a life-long Hudson County resident, Anthony has a lot of passion and love for this community. Anthony is also the Coalition Supervisor at Partners in Prevention. With a love for research and media as well as almost 10 years in prevention, Anthony finds passion in this field. Anthony manages the social media, website, and any behind-the-scenes research to work toward what changes need to be made to improve the community further.
Anthony holds a Bachelors degree in Public Health & Psychology from William Paterson University where he worked on and had work published, focusing on substances and public health. He is currently pursuing an MBS from Rutgers University.
